Recurring-task systems can calculate the next occurrence in different ways. Todoist distinguishes between an original cadence and a schedule based on completion: “every” retains the original cadence, while “every!” places the next occurrence relative to completion. Microsoft Planner follows another recurring-task pattern. Its documentation states, “Planner shows only the current occurrence of a recurring task. The more often the answer is yes, the stronger the case for a rotation. Mixed answers usually point to a combined system.
